Aledo Young Democrats

Aledo Young Democrats (AYD) is a small non-school sponsored group which came together in 2005. AYD organized a backpack fundraiser event on behalf of Wings of the Dawn to raise money to buy school supplies and backpacks, the group volunteered to run a rest stop for the Aledo Ride for Heroes, and non-profit bike ride supporting local fire departments. With their "Go-Green like the Hippies" themed rest stop they won 3rd place in the decorating contest which provided additional funds for the project. Fund raised from the event was used to purchase several backpacks and school supplies donated to support Wings of the Dawn. AYD is currently working a summer long “Can You Spare A Dollar” fundraising campaign in an ongoing effort to continue to support Wings of the Dawn projects in Africa.
